What is Mountain Top Yoga Jam?

Mountain Top Yoga Jam is an intenionally held, family-friendly gathering rooted in yoga, somatic practice, conscious music, and community care.

This is not a large commercial festival. MTYJ is a community-scale gathering designed to feel spacious, grounded, and relational —— a place to move, listen, rest, and connect in nature.

Tickets & Camping

Weekend and one-day passes are available. Camping is optional and purchased with your festival ticket.

Camping includes one campsite for the weekend and is provided by Kick Back N Camp.

Important: This event takes place at Kick Back n Camp in Belington, WV, not at EarthSky Campground.

All camping reservartions are non-refundable and non-cancellable. Festival tickets are also non-refundable but you may transfer them to someone else.

The Weekend Flow

Friday
Arrival, opening ceremony, and a relaxed community open mic with live music to welcome the weekend.

Saturday
Yoga, somatic movement, wellness workshops, and kids programming during the day with live music and shared evening gatherings.

Sunday
Gentle movement, integration, and closing circle and an optional community music jam for those who wish to linger.

A full schedule will be shared closer to the event.

What to expect

Mountain Top Yoga Jam is a family-friendly, community-rooted gathering that blends yoga, music, and holistic wellness in nature. The weekend is designed to be spacious, welcoming and accessible — whether you come for deep practice, joyful movement, live music, ir simply to be in good company under the open sky.

Yoga & Somatic Movement

All levels yoga, gentle and dynamic classes, playful classes, somatic movement and restorative practices designed to support nervous system regulation and embodied awareness.

Live Music & Creative Expression

Conscious music, sound healing, drumming, ecstatic dance, and evening performances woven throughout the weekend.

Community, Kids & Nature

Family-friendly programming, kids yoga, art, and play spaces, plenty of space to rest, connect, explore the land and miles of hiking trails, or simply enjoy being together outdoors.

Teachers & Facilitators

Mountain Top Yoga Jam brings together experienced teachers, musicians and facilitators from across Appalachia and the surrounding region. Each offering is rooted in embodied practice, care for the community, and respect for the land.

The weekend is intentionally curated to balance depth and spaciousness, from Somatic yoga, to Kundalini, Vinyasa, Acro and beyond plus workshops on meditation, Appalachian folk medicine, guided hikes, drumming, dancing and more — you’re invited to explore what resonates and move at your own pace.

The Mountaintop Experience

Mountaintop is a space to land in your body and remember yourself. Through yoga, music, shared meals, and time on the land, we create a rhythm that feels human again—unrushed, connected, and deeply nourishing.

Local Artisans and Earth Medicine

Throughout the weekend a small village of artisans, and medicine keepers will be sharing their offerings. From herbals remedies and plant medicine, to crystals and tarot, and locally made art, food vendors including vegetarian, the market is a place to wander, connect and support soulful, small-scale creators.

What level of yoga experience is required?

→ No yoga experience is required. We have classes to suit all-levels, that offer choices and modifications and above all listening to the body.

Is this event beginner-friendly?

→ Yes, we have mutliple classes suited to beginners of all levels ages and shapes.

What should I bring?

→ Yoga mat, layers, water bottle, camping gear (if applicable).

Are meals included?

→No meals are not included. There will be food vendors offering a variety of options including breakfast, vegetarian and omnivorous. If you are camping we recommend bringing snacks and whatever food you may need. There is a small grocery store in the town of Belington.

Is this a family-friendly event?

→ Yes this is a family friendly event where kids are given spaces to play, move and connect.

Is camping required?

→ No camping is not required. Many attendees are driving in from local surrounding areas for the day.

What is the weather like?

→ In July the weather is typically warm but we are higher up on top of the low appalachian foothill in the trees so expect lots of shade and a nice breeze. We often get afternoon T Storms that pass through quickly.

What is the campground like?

→ Camping is at Kick Back n Camp, adjacent to the music venue Mountain Top Music Shop. The campground is spacious, has plenty of shade, a pond for fishing, miles of hiking trails, a camp store and very well maintained bathrooms and showers.

Is camping required?

→ No camping is not required. Many attendees are driving in from local surrounding areas for the day.

Is this a substance-free event?

Yes this is a substance free (no alcohol or illicit substances) event.

What if I’ve never done anything like this before?

→ Perfect! We will welcome you in and make sure you feel right at home.

Is this a spiritual or religious gathering?

→ This gathering welcomes people of all faiths to gather and connect together under this one sky. We are an earth-based, inclusive, non-dogmatic gathering.

What if I need rest or quiet time?

→ You have permission to opt out of classes and take a nap under the shade any time! This event is designed for you to choose your own rhythm and pace for the day.

Is the land accessible?

→ We are on a beautiful stretch of flat grassy land dotted with tall shade bearing trees. There is easy access to the event spaces. There are handicap accessible bathrooms and showers.
